All About Functional Medicine

Functional medicine aims to address the root cause of health issues rather than just treating symptoms. Each body is unique, and factors such as genetics, environment, lifestyle, and nutrition can play a significant role in overall health.

A detailed patient history is taken including past medical history, assessments of lifestyle, nutrition and environment. We seek to identify and address the underlying causes of disease and provide treatment based on specific needs. An integrative treatment approach is implemented that may include; nutrition adjustments, supplementation and lifestyle modifications along with conventional medical treatments.

Functional medicine is evidence-based medicine that focuses on diagnostic tools like laboratory tests and imagining to inform diagnosis and treatment approach while integrating sometimes multiple methods to provide strong preventative medicine and treat disease at its root.

Functional Medicine may be for you if...
  • Functional medicine may be for you if:
    • You want to know why do I feel like this?
    • You are interested in determining what may be causing your symptoms
    • If you have already seen a doctor and still aren’t feeling better
    • If you’re interested in thoroughly exploring aspects of your body and health. This approach can help you better understand areas such as your gastrointestinal system, hormone imbalances, vitamin and mineral absorption, allergens, genetics, inflammatory responses, and microbiome.
    • Struggle with chronic conditions such as chronic fatigue, chronic pain, or autoimmune syndromes.

Follow-up appointments are typically scheduled within the following 1-2 weeks and can be conducted via phone, telehealth, or in the clinic.

Cost of treatment:
