Try these delicious pre-biotic fiber pancakes! Make extra and freeze then for busy mornings.
Banana Flour Pancakes
1 cup Green Banana Baking Flour (this can be found at most health food stores or online)
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
3 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
3 eggs whisked
1 teaspoon of natural vanilla extract
1/2 cup nut milk such as almond (you may need a bit more)
2 teaspoons lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
Grass fed butter, ghee or coconut oil to cook in
Whisk together eggs, sweeteners, nut milk and vanilla. Mix together dry ingredients and combine everything together.
Heat a pan to medium heat and drop enough batter to make small pancakes (large ones will fall apart.) Heat until bubbly on the first side and then flip and cook until the second side is done.
Top with some pasture butter, and a little of this:
Berry syrup
1cup organic Berries (I often use frozen berries)
Few drops of stevia (to taste)
1/3 tsp of Maple flavoring (this is natural and available at most health food stores)
1/4-1/3 cup water
Place all ingredients on stovetop in a small pan on med heat and simmer until berries have broken down. Can be slathered on top of pancakes as is or put in the blender for a thinner puree.
Prebiotics  are great fertility foods, They are the things that your helpful digestive bacteria like and thrive on. In food form they are:
Garlic, Onions, Asparagus,Barely ripened bananas or banana flour
Apples,Cocoa,Jicama,Seaweed, Artichokes and Jerusalem artichokes, Berries, Wild rice, Raw honey, Coconut flour,Cooked and cooled potatoes.
Add a few of these foods into your diet, because..
We do not digest the fiber in these foods well, but our helpful bacteria thrive on them. We need to feed our good bacteria the types of food they can thrive on in order for them to succeed! Our helpful bacteria in our digestive systems “run the show” on so many processes in the body including thyroid and hormonal balance. They speak to our brains via the vagus nerve and dictate food cravings. When our helpful bacteria are thriving, they vote for less sugar and help us to crave better food choices to keep our insulin and other hormones in check.
